Abstract

In this article, an approach to the notion of pastoral care is carried out, in order to alert a polysemy of senses and meanings that threatens it within educational-pastoral communities. From this assumption, we will try to approach the construction of a concept of Educational Pastoral that is constituted as a way and possibility to guide the praxis. In this path, a reflection is established on the irruption of new subjects who question pastoral care, generating the need to draw pastoral maps for accompaniment. Mutability and fluidity are a characteristic feature that implies moving from the static to a pilgrim logic. Given this, we ask ourselves: What do we (not) say when we say “pastoral”? After suggesting some distinctions, it is proposed to understand pastoral care as eco-systemic praxis, and then to tense with the verb educate. As the main contribution of these reflections, an attempt is made to coin the concept of Educational Pastoral as a path and reference. Then, in dialogue with the magisterium of Pope Francis, some questions and challenges are proposed based on the polyhedron and the four principles to build a people, making an analogy between people and educational community.
